My reflection
The graph made it clear that heat sped up the reaction. I think our room-temperature trial was off because we didn't measure the water the same way each time.
Rubric
Data Analysis & Modeling
Rated DevelopingSkill: analyzing and interpreting data · Knowledge: matter and its interactions (reaction rates)
Beginner
Reads values from the graph with support.
Developing
Describes the pattern in the data and starts to explain it.
Proficient
Explains how temperature changes reaction rate and names a limit of the data.
Specialist
Uses the data to predict an untested temperature and teaches the method.
Comment: Clear description of the pattern. Name one limit of your data to reach Proficient.
Design & Adaptability
Rated BeginnerSkill: planning and carrying out investigations · Knowledge: reaction rates
Beginner
Follows the procedure; variables not yet controlled.
Developing
Controls most variables with reminders.
Proficient
Plans a fair test that controls variables and follows it.
Specialist
Designs and revises an investigation independently.
Comment: Water volume was not controlled across trials. You spotted it yourself, which is the first step.
Feedback from Ms. Patel
Strong explanation of the pattern. You spotted the water problem yourself, so next lab, plan how you'll keep it the same before you start.
